EDITORIALS: Informed Opinion
Traveling Lightly
Have you ever had a travel companion who displayed more interest in sampling a particular locale’s smorgasbord of available men, than in actually experiencing the full spectrum of delights that a given destination has to offer? Well I certainly have and I find it to be a damn annoying personality defect. While I am the last person to begrudge anyone a little holiday hanky-panky (hell I encourage it), I find it positively insufferable and, moreover incomprehensible, when hooking up becomes anyone’s raison d’etre on holiday.
A Message From the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network
As we pause this July 4th to remember our nation's fight for independence, the SLDN family asks our friends and supporters to take a moment to reflect upon those who serve our country in the shadows of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." Today, in every corner of the globe, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans are on the frontlines, serving our country. They serve with honor and distinction defending our freedoms while serving in silence.
ABC Regularly Airs Anti-Gay Storylines
Of course, Isaiah Washington acted like a horse's ass. But it's amazing to me that he has been fired from Grey's Anatomy by its producers at ABC Television Studios when the network itself doesn't have clean hands on the issue of storylines about homosexuality. I'll go ahead and make the accusation: ABC Entertainment regularly airs programming that is anti-gay.
Vox Pop: Does Age Matter?

MENTORING
It could happen when you have the least amount of time available for it. Someone comes out to you. He may even hit on you. He thinks he wants a lover, or maybe just to get laid, but you know better. What he needs is a mentor.
LGBT Youth Homelessness: A National Disgrace
The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Policy Institute, in collaboration with the National Coalition for the Homeless, released a national report today titled Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth: An epidemic of homelessness. “Epidemic” is a strong word to use, but in this case it’s justified.
Pelosi -- Anything BUT a San Francisco Democrat
First of all when Republicans first started using the term "San Francisco Decmocrat" it was shorthand to their base of hate. It meant, "I like gay people," and all that goes with it.
Haggard is Not Another Gay Sex Scandal
Why don't I feel rage over this latest so-called sex and drugs scandal concerning the nation's top Evangelical leader? The President of the National Association of Evangelicals has been exposed as a man who allegedly cheats on his wife and family, employs a male prostitute, uses illegal drugs, and generally lives a life of complete hypocrisy.
Suicide prevention grant is for people, not politics
Lincoln's City Council and the Lancaster County Commissioner voted to approve a suicide prevention grant focused at gay and lesbian youth. The approval of this much-needed grant has in no way rendered the issue moot. The opposition to the grant from Councilwoman Robin Eschliman and Commissioner Bob Workman has fueled an ongoing debate. For weeks the debate has been playing out in editorial cartoons and letters to the editor and will, no doubt, continue on for some time.
